He was born January 9, 1922 in South Cottonwood to Willard and Effie Reynolds Boyce Jensen. He was the twelfth of thirteen children.
He married Lois Littlewood on April 8, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Shirley was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, happily serving as stake and ward clerks. He was meticulous in his record keeping. His favorite calling was that of a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple, which he did for nine years.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and ABM for thirty years.
He loved the outdoors and had a great love of guns.
His wife and family were the most important things to him.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and great-grandfather.
Survivors: wife, Lois; son, Robert (Kathie); daughters, Diane Jensen Hatch (Ron) and Mary Kathryn Marchant Jensen Dority (Jeff); grandchildren, Melanie, Pattie (Tyler), Tyler, Ryan, Joei (Rob), Robbie, Adam, Megan, Ben, and Zach; and great-granddaughter, Morgan Taylor. Preceded in death by his son, Gary Lee Jensen, parents, brothers, and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2001 at 12:00 p.m. in the Rose Park Ninth Ward Chapel, 760 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City. Friends and family may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, Salt Lake City, on Friday, December 21, 2001 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
