Mrs. Cathy Detra Reed, of Columbia, South Caroina, was born on August 1, 1961. She was the daughter of Deacon Nathaniel and Deaconess Melvina Moyd. On January 8, 2015, Mrs. Reed went home to Glory to receive her crown of victory.
Mrs. Reed was educated in the public schools of Richland County, graduating from W.J. Keenan High School in 1979. She was employed with Shaw Industries (Honeywell), with twenty-five years of service.
Mrs. Reed was a member of Jehovah Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Musical Choir. She had a love for gospel singing. Cathy sang with various gospel groups such as the The Inspirational Singers, The Satisfied Gospel Singers and The Singing Angels.
