Leona Brenning
Leona L Brenning, 65, No. 1 Aspen Drive, died Friday (Aug 27 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver after an illness of about six months.
She was born in Harvey, N.D. May 7, 1911, and married Rev. Abraham Brenning Dec 11, 1938, in Harvey. She was a housewife.
When they were married Rev. Brenning was serving the Hardin, Mont., church, where they stayed until 1944. They then moved to Scottsbluff, Neb., until 1950. Rev. Brenning also served in Loveland from 1950 to 1962, in Lincoln, Neb., from 1962 to 1969 and at Cheyenne, Wyo., from 1969 to 1976. They moved here in July after he retired and moved back to Loveland.
She is survived by her husband of Loveland; a son Robert of Duluth, Minn.; three brothers Alvin Schimke and Otto Schimke, both of Lodi, Calif., and Ervin Schimke of Glendive, Mont.; two sisters Mrs. Emma Mortenson and Mrs. Alma Ravnaas, both of Harvey, N.D. and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, who died in Viet Nam, three brothers and a sister.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the First Congregational Church. Burial will be in the Loveland Burial Park. Friends may make memorial gifts to the National Leukemia Association, P.O. Box 900, Elmira, N.Y. 14901.
