Services for Claudia Adams were held on Thursday, Jan. 9, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley. Officiating was Rev. Francis Mennenga. Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Kenneth Riedemann, Robert Gable, Dr. P.E. Sweeney, Irvin Riedemann, Rudy Petersen and Denton Lux. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Claudia Kay Adams, the daughter of Leonard and Ruth Boernsen Adams, was born at Hartley, Iowa on June 11, 1954. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in 1968 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Hartley. She grew to know and love her Lord.

She was a 1972 graduate of Hartley High School. Some of her many activities included; Band, Chorus, Cheerleader, Pep Club, FFA Chapter Sweetheart and Homecoming attendant. She was active in the church as the LYC president and a Vacation Bible School teacher. She was crowned as the 1972 Iowa Shorthorn Lassie Queen.

She continued her education at Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls and then transferred to Northwestern College at Orange City where she was active in the Student Christian Fellowship in 1974. She managed the Hartley Municipal Swimming Pool in 1974.

She was stricken at her home on Saturday and died on Monday, January 6, 1975 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Sioux City.

Preceding her in death was her grandfather, Frank Adams in 1967.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Leonard and Ruth Adams of Hartley, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Boernsen of May City and Mrs. Ethel Adams of Hartley; three sisters, Mrs. Steve (Pat) Baumgarten of Hartley and Veronica and Emily at home; two brothers, David and his wife Beth Adams of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and Tom Adams at home, as well as all of her other relatives and friends.
