Theodore S. Caldwell, Sr., 68, of State Route 8, died on January 15, 2015, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, with his family by his side.
Ted was born on January 16, 1946, in Herkimer, a son of the late Earl and Fannie (Roby) Caldwell.
He received his education in Poland and Herkimer schools. He was first employed at the former Jamestown Veneer Mill in Poland. For 29 years, he worked for Herkimer Agway as a Spray Truck Driver and in various other capacities. After retiring from Agway, he worked at Nathan Steel for a few years. On July 5, 1986, Ted was united in marriage with the former Patricia Wanamaker in the Town of Russia.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors besides his wife of 28 years, Pat, include four children, Theodore Caldwell, Jr., of West Palm Beach, FL, Christina (David) Dulan, of Westernville, Laura (Herbert) Inman, of Deerfield, and William Goodie (Sue Radcliffe), of Whitesboro; seven grandchildren, Lyndsey Lachut, Ashley Dineen, Samantha Wendell and Nicole, Anthony, Shannon and Roman Inman; three sisters, Blanche Anna, of FL, Anna Dain, of Herkimer, and Rose (Charles) Burns, of Cold Brook; two brothers, Bernard Caldwell, of Rome, and Herbert Caldwell, of Norwich; several nieces and nephews; his former wife, Judyann Dooley, of West Palm Beach, FL; and his beloved canine companion, "Molly"
Ted was predeceased by an infant daughter, Tammy Ann Caldwell; five sisters, Mary Jane LaComb, Eunice Remonda, Helen LaComb, Alice Heilig and Barbara Warney; and by two brothers, Dewitt and Lawrence Caldwell.
In accordance with Ted's wishes, services will be private at the convenience of his family and there are no calling hours. Ted would like to be remembered as he was in life...
