Harry Eugene Lyman, 77, of Temecula, California passed away on January 14, 2015 at his home after a long battle with cancer.

He was born September 25, 1937 in Nephi, Utah to Harry Benson Lyman and Dorothy Dee Newcomb. Gene graduated from Davis High School (Kaysville, Utah). Graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with an Industrial Management Concentration.

He was trained as a radio tech and served in the United States Air Force from October 1955 – September 1959.

He married Arlene Wilson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 19, 1963. They were Regional Managers with Nature’s Sunshine Products.

After Arlene’s passing in 1999, he met and married JoAnn Groves in the San Diego Temple on March 1, 2002. They enjoyed traveling together and spent time in Hawaii, Europe, the Caribbean, and visiting their children. They served together as LDS Employment Service Missionaries in the Temecula California Stake Employment Center. They also served in the San Diego LDS Temple together.

He will best be remembered for his faith and dedication to the gospel of Jesus Christ and for his love and devotion to his family. He lived his life serving others and never missed an opportunity to serve in the church or in the community.

Gene is survived by his wife JoAnn Lyman, 2 daughters, Loni (Stewart) Wilson of Hurricane, Utah and Keri (Mark) Nilsen of Temecula, California; 3 step children, Kris (Amy) Olsen of Red Rock, Texas, Riley Olsen of Gila, New Mexico and Richard (Tessa) Olsen of Kilauea, Hawaii. 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Bette (Jim)Maxwell of Vero Beach Florida, Norma Ellis of Hurricane, Utah and Vicki (Perry) Bolyard of Cottonwood Heights, Utah; 3 brothers, Stan (LouAnn) Lyman of Kaysville, Utah, Rick (Coleen) Lyman of Clinton, Utah and Craig (Noreen) Lyman of Edmond, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his wife Arlene; parents Harry Benson and Dorothy Dee Lyman; brothers Gary and Paul; and sisters Camille and DeAnne.

A Graveside Service will take place on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 am. Military honors will be performed by the American Legion
