Troy Jacob Reed, age 81, of the Lanes Creek community of Georgetown died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown.
He was a son of the late Mr. Jacob Reed and the late Mrs. Rosa Gamble Reed.
Mr. Reed is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Mozella Vereen Reed of the Lanes Creek community; six daughters, Marva Reed Prior, Ruthena Reed Wilson and Christine Reed, all of the Lanes Creek community, Rosa Reed Gamble of Newark, N.J.; Parrie Reed Hook of Orangeburg, S.C., and Tyone Reed Linen of the Dunbar community of Georgetown; three sons, Oliver Reed of Las Vegas, Nev., and John Reed and James Reed, both of the Lanes Creek community; three sisters, Emily Armstrong and Ethelyn Hemingway, both of Georgetown, and Phyllis Reed of Georgia; and a host of loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Chester Hill Missionary Baptist Church in the Lanes Creek community, where Rev. Harry Lee, pastor, will be officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The remains will lie in state in the sanctuary of the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
Viewing will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Linen-Knox Funeral Home, 1632 Emanuel Street in Georgetown.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Linen-Knox Funeral Home.
