Ellen "Hope" Williams, age 89 of Bellingham passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2009. She was born on October 23, 1919 in Spokane, WA to John and Joicey (Ammons) Olson. Hope graduated from Ritzville High School as valedictorian of the class of 1937. She went on to Washington State College, where she studied journalism.

Hope married Albert Florence in 1942 and the couple had three children. Her second husband, Jim Williams preceded her in death in 2008.

Hope was a member of Garden Street United Methodist Church and was a member of the Circle group there. She loved boating and enjoyed traveling the world. Hope especially loved her condo in Hawaii, where she lived during the winter months. Her favorite times though, were those spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Hope is survived by her son, Jeffery Florence (Sandra); daughter, Cynthia Burns-Eiene (Jack); son, David Florence (Connie); step-daughter, Kathleen Owens; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Moles-Greenacres Funeral Home.
