Rev. James G. Crouch, 84, of Summersville passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, in the Peyton House at Fairlea. He was the son of the late Clyde and Beulah Wood Crouch and was born at Huntington, June 27, 1930. He was a graduate of Marshall College and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jim was also a member of the 1947 Huntington East High School State Championship Basketball Team. He was a former pastor at Mt. Carmel in Kentucky, Bethel in Parkersburg, Webster Springs, Weston, Maryvale in Arizona and the Summersville Baptist Church. Jim was a member of the WV Baptist Convention staff, director of World Missions Support and a volunteer staff member of MMBCABCUSA. He was director of the WV Baptist Camp at Cowen from 1985 to 1993, where he served as "head grass cutter" for thirty years. Upon retirement, Jim was interim pastor at Weston, Frametown, Summersville Baptist, Summersville Presbyterian as well as filling numerous pulpits throughout the state. He was an avid sports fan, a clock keeper for NCHS basketball and football for many years and a former referee.

Jim was also preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; son, Jim Bob; and brothers, Bob, Bill and Don Crouch.

Surviving are daughter, Virginia "Ginger" (David) Ramsey of Louisville, Colorado; four grandchildren, Adam (Jori), Ashley, Bailey (Shelby) and Mick; three great-grandchildren, Addison, Caydan and Braedi; brother-in-law, Jack (Jackie) Lively.

Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015, in the Summersville Baptist Family Life Center with Pastor Dana Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Memorial Park at Summersville. Friends may call at the family life center from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, donations for the Baptist Camp can be made to the WV Baptist Convention, PO Box 1019, Parkersburg WV 26102.
