Joseph F. Campbell, 83 years old, Butler county, died yesterday in the home of his son, Robert J. Campbell, Springdale. Mr. Campbell was born and spent his entire life in the vicinity of Fairview township, Butler county. During the Civil War he served in Company G, Eighty-eighth Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. Mr. Campbell was county treasurer from 1873 to 1876 and held several other political offices. His wife died several years ago. He was a member of the Methodist episcopal Church for 60 years and was a charter member of Joseph G. Campbell Post No. 107, G.A.R., of Petrolia. Besides Robert J. Campbell, he leaves one other son, W.A. Campbell, of Los Angeles, Cal., 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
