George C. SORENSEN , 89, Mount Pleasant, died July 18, 1968, at his home of causes incident to age.
Born January 26, 1897, Mount Pleasant, a son of Christian and Willerena Jensen SORENSEN. Married Mina HASLER September 01, 1909, Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Attended Snow Academy and Utah State University, Logan. Farmer, stockman. Served mission to Denmark, 1904-1906. Stake missionary. High priest, Mount Pleasant Fourth Ward. Manti Temple worker. Member, Mount Pleasant City council, President and secretary of Farm Bureau in Mount Pleasant and Sanpete County organizations. Pioneered dry farming in Sanpete County, 1906, being the first to raise dryland wheat. County chairman, Agricultural Conservation Association, six years; local committeeman 21 years. Member Farm Rehabilitation Committee.
Survivors; widow; sons, daughters, Miles, Mount Pleasant; Royal, Fresno, California; Leon, Huntsville, Weber County; Mrs. John (Elaine) BECKER, Long Beach, California; Mrs. Don (Donna) VANCE, Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Don (Norma) THOMPSON, Reno, Nevada; twenty-one grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, sister, Mrs. Geneva OOLDROYD, Salt Lake City.
Funeral Monday, 1:00 p.m., Mount Pleasant First-Fourth Ward Chapel. Friends call Jacobs Mortuary, Sunday 7:30-9:30 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to Services. Burial Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
