Mrs. Hattie Willis Sowers, 82, of Rt. 2, Fancy Gap, Va., a retired teacher in the Carroll County , Va. School System, died Wednesday at Rex Hospital, Raleigh. She was the wife of Arnold Sowers. Born Feb. 10, 1904 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Thomas Jeff and Elitha Ayers Willis and a member of Bluemont Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Hilda S. Patterson of Raleigh and Mrs. Kay Hill of Dallas; four grandchildren.
The body will remain at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral services. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Bluemont Presbyterian Church, followed by burial in the church cemetery.
