Bobby Glenn Guest, 71, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away on Jan. 14, 2015, in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 18 at the Midlothian Funeral Home in Midlothian, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m with Bob Gharis, friend of the family from the First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton on Sunday January 18 with a informal gathering of family and friends.
Bob was born in Hamilton, Texas to Cecil Otis Guest and Dora Lee Berkley Guest on March 22, 1946.
He left home at age 18 with $18 dollars in his pocket and his accomplishments were tremendous. Bob built buildings, raced sports cars and formula cars in the 60s, sold sports cars and was a pilot and a stunt pilot in the 70s, restored multi-million dollar classic cars throughout the 80s, 90s, and 00s and coached dozens of championship soccer teams including two Under-19 Indoor National Champion teams. Bob helped literally dozens of lost souls over the years providing jobs and income in his auto restoration shops for all kinds of guys who needed work or were down on their luck.
He raised two sons with wife Reeny and taught them to be independent, tough minded and how to take care of themselves and their families. His generosity, ingenuity and creativity will be remembered forever by all of those who knew him.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, C.O. Guest, in-laws, Rex Byron Robinson and , Georgia Marie Hurley Robinson and Rex Dee Robinson, his brother-in-Law.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, “Reeny” Robinson Guest of Waxahachie, children, Austin Glenn Guest and Corbett Glenn Guest, Daughters-in-law, Deidra “Dee Dee” Guest and Tiffany Guest; Beloved grandchildren, Gabi Guest, Beckham Guest, Elijah Guest and Fenimore Guest. Other survivors include brother in law Jerry Robinson, and special nephews Adam and Jerrod Robinson. The family wishes to convey their gratitude to all of have reached out with kind words and support over the last week. Special thanks to Bob, O’Don, the Vaughan family, Timoteo and Uncle Jerry.
