Robert E. Leavell, Sr., 90, of Russellville, passed peacefully into glory on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville.
The son of John and Winnie Truett Leavell, he was born May 23, 1927 in Shelby, MS.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korea War and was stationed in Japan during the war. He was retired from Standard Rendering and was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Leavell; his parents; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Velda Frazier(Keith), Russellville; his son, Robert E Leavell, Jr. (Tina), Vienna, MO; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Collins (Ashley)Russellville, Kimberly Campbell (Justin), Dover, Cole Robertson (Savanah), Vienna, MO; 5 great-grandchildren, Presley Collins, Emersyn Collins and Carter Roach, all of Russellville, Addison Robertson and Brooklyn Robertson, Vienna, MO; life-long friend, Leonard Elliott.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at McFadden Cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Dr. Steve Mosley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to McFadden Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund,
