Funeral services for Monroe Maggard, 82, a longtime Oldfield resident, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in High Lonesome Church with the Rev. C. B. Maggard officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Clinkingbeard of Ava. Mr. Maggard, a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday in Springfield Baptist Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Rosa; five sons, Preston, Troy and Tilbert, all of Oldfield, Lorie, Route 3, Ava and Cecil, 1019 North Brown, Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Opal Coffer, Chadwick; a brother, Sampy, Oldfield; and a sister, Mrs. Vina Davis, Springfield.
