Bertha Barnett "Sis" Cooper, 96, of Spartanburg, formerly of Cowpens, SC, died Thursday, January 15, 2015, at White Oak Manor. Born December 28, 1918, in Mayo, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Annie Thrift Barnett, and widow of Robert C. Cooper.

Mrs. Cooper was retired from Spartan Mill. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Cowpens, Woodmen of the World Circle, Golden Circle Sunday School Class, and Forever Young Senior Group.

Surviving are her daughters, Doris Turner and Diane Skinner (Roger), all of Boiling Springs, SC; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Ruby Pennington of Laurens, SC and Ruth Horton of Inman, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Paul Barnett and James Barnett.

Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Jason A. Metcalf. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.

Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, PO Box 310, Cowpens, SC 29330.

The family is at the home of Roger and Diane Skinner.
