Dr. Charles S. Burnside

KENTON, April 3 - The victim of a strange disease which sapped his blood of red corpuscles as fast as they could be built up by treatment, Dr. Charles S. Burnside, 68, of Marion, formerly of Hardin-co, died yesterday at his home there. Physicians at Marion and Columbus had repeatedly failed, with X-ray and fluoroscope, to diagnose his illness.

An autopsy was to be performed Saturday in an attempt to determine the cause of Burside's death.

A graduate of Ohio Northern university, Ada, and of the Starling Medical college (now a part of Ohio State university), Dr. Burnside commenced his practice in Mt. Victory. He moved to Meeker in 1898, and to Marion in 1916. He served as Marion-co coroner from 1923 to 1927.

Born in Virginia Dec. 5, 1868, Dr. Burnside is survived by the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Warren H. Meister of Hornell, N.Y., and Mrs. C. W. Klinefelter of Scarsdale, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Hastings and Mrs. John Knisely of Kenton and Mrs. Frank Burnison of Mt. Gilead; two brothers, John W. Burnside of Kenton and W. J. Burnside of Harptser; and two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements today were incomplete.
