Mr. Stewart was born Aug. 6, 1943, in DeKalb, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, DeKalb, and a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Erna Stewart of DeKalb; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dionte and Tanisha Stewart of Irving and Michael and Geleia Murphy of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Patricia Stewart of Houston; six grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Knapp officiating. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body may be viewed 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
