Mrs. Larsen was born in Mt. Pleasant, December 10, 1896, a daughter of Leo Quincy and Hannah Osterlin Barnett. She married Joseph Faireld Larsen, December 27, 1919, who preceded her in death in 1982. Mrs. Larsen attended the local public schools and graduated from the University of Utah with a special degree in education. She later taught school in Castle Gate, Utah and at the Hamilton Grade School in Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Larsen grew up in the same community where her mother owned and managed Ladies Millinery Shop. She later expanded the business into a full-scale ladies ready-to-wear store, along with her husband, helped operate and manage a drug and pharmacy store, Barnett and Larsen. When the property was destroyed by fire in 1954, she and her husband rebuilt a two-business building on the same site on Main Street in Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Larsen was the first president of the local Junior Literary Club and served as president of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a Utah Auxiliary Representative to the National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mrs. Larsen was a member of the LDS Church.
Mrs. Larsen is survived by a son, Howard Barnett Larsen; daughter, Mrs. Bert George (Leone) Cox, Rye, New York; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery, under direction of Ursenbach Funeral Home. Friends may meet at the cemetery.
