Johnnie Ruth Williams Johnson of Gainesville, FL passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, January 13, 2015 with family and friends by her bedside. Our loving mother was born April 28, 1925 in New Hebron, Mississippi to Sally Kennedy Williams and Homer P. Williams.

Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband S. Clyde Johnson, brothers Charles and Homer (Jr.) Williams, sister Elizabeth Sue Lewis and grandson Michael Wesley Johnson.

Johnnie was an accomplished homemaker, artist and mother to 5 children (four boys and one girl), grandmother to 9 grandchildren (Chris, Cortney, Summer, Duane, Hannah, Luke, Katie, Tommy and Sarah) and 6 great-grandchildren (Jordyn, Jakob, Chase, Hunter, Caroline and Will). Johnnie is survived by her five children, David Johnson (Becky) of Gainesville, Jerry Johnson and George Johnson of Gainesville, Tom Johnson of Bryson City, NC and Patti Johnson of Atlanta, GA. Johnnie was also survived by her sister, Nancy Noe-Nichols (Lee) of Atlantic Beach, FL brother, Jerry Williams (Barbara) of Green Cove Springs, FL and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held in the Chapel at Milam Funeral Home, 311 South Main Street, Gainesville, FL, Monday, January 19 at 1PM followed by burial next to her loving husband of 56 years, S. Clyde Johnson at Swift Creek Historic Church and Cemetery in White Springs, FL. Arrangements are under the care of MILAM FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 311 S. Main Street, Gainesville, FL 32601. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Haven Hospice, Gainesville or the Parklands Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, residents' fund.
