Vincent A. Anderson, 101, of Kennett Square passed Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Artman Lutheran Home, Ambler, PA.

He was the husband of Vandella Wolfe Anderson with whom he shared 72 years of marriage.

Born in Grassy Creek, NC he was the son of the late Harrison Bert and Willie Blanche Haverder Anderson.

In his earlier years, Vincent worked on the family farm plowing fields and milking cows. He later worked in the mushroom business and retired after 14 years of service with Lukens Steel, Coatesville.

He was a resident of Kennett Square for over 50 years.

Vincent was a member of the Bethel AME Church, Kennett Square and former member of the York Rite Masonic Lodge, Gary WV.

He enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, watching the Phillies, and spending time chatting with friends.

He is survived by his loving wife; one son, Vincent E. Anderson and his wife, Diane of Glenside.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana L. Anderson.

A Home Going Service will be held 10 am Saturday, Jan. 24th at Bethel AME Church, 300 W. Linden St., Kennett Square, PA 19348 where friends and family may visit from 9 – 10 am.

Interment will be Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Bethel AME Church.
