Max W. Phillips, 86, Evansport, died early Monday, March
24, 2008, at Harborside Healthcare Center of Bryan.
He was born on April 10, 1921, in Hicksville, the son of Ashor and Edith (Criswell) Phillips. He married Delorise Franks, who died in 1987. He then married Ruth Kinsman Fedderke, who survives.
Prior to his retirement, he was a construction worker and had also worked for the New Mexico Department of Transportation. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bryan.
Also surviving are three daughters, Nancy (James) Ellis of Edon, Patsy (Mike) Rex of Evansport and Ruby Worchuck, Malinta; three sons, Randy (Susan) Phillips of Cromwill, Ind., W. Scott (Beverly) Phillips of Defiance and Tony Phillips, Gregory, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Roxanne Alabata, Bryan; five stepsons, Gary, Dennis and Ned Fedderke of Defiance, Bill Fedderke of Evansport and Dan Fedderke, Bryan; a sister, Olive Jane Swank, Ligonier, Ind.; and 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren and many stepgrandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Kermit, John, Throlow Oliver and Roger Phillips; and two sisters, Letha Barber and Vanda Lautermilch.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Grisier Funeral
Home, Stryker, with Pastor John McFarland officiating.
Burial will be in Evansport Cemetery. Visitation is from
2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
