ABINGDON, Va. Carol Christine "Teeny" Gregory Farmer, age 77, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at her home. She was born May 24, 1937, in Washington County, to the late Tucker Gregory and Tiny Elizabeth Wyatt Gregory. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Lawson Farmer; three sisters, Nannie Ellen Wheeler, Laura Virginia Casey and Madge Monelle Gregory; and three brothers, Horace Gregory, Preston Stuart Gregory and Ernest "Bootie" Gregory. She and her late husband owned and operated Emit's Family Restaurant in Abingdon for 33 years. She enjoyed singing and was a member of Damascus Road Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend. Survivors include four children, Vanessa Cummings of Abingdon, Tammy Salyer of Bristol, VA, Gregory Farmer and wife Connie of Christiansburg, VA, and Lonnie Farmer of Abingdon; eight grandchildren, Derek Salyer, Lindsey Cummings, Kaitlyn Salyer, Cody Farmer, Haley Farmer, Corbin Farmer, Dylan Farmer and Cathryn Farmer; one sister-in-law, Imogene Gregory; a dear friend, Carolyn Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their thanks to Mountain States Home Care, especially nurses, Missy, Danielle, Tina and Nancy for the care shown to Teeny. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John E. Massey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2015, at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Derek Salyer, Matthew Riley, McKenzie Riley, Terry Gregory, Steven Gregory and Gary Gregory. Honorary pallbearers will be David Robinson, Timothy Riley, Clyde Anderson and James Wyatt.
