Harvey was born December 20, 1935, in Parker, SD, to Walter H. and Mary (Wiens) Bemelman. He served in the Minnesota National Guard. Harvey married JoAnn Grimsley Zierer October 22, 1988, in St. Cloud. He was employed as a truck driver for over 20 years. Harvey was a member of Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Pam Bemelman; sister, Bernice Mauseth and brother Harley Bemelman.
