Mrs. Ottavio was born on December 9, 1933 in New Castle to the late Slaman and Jamile Arif-Omor Abdoe.
She had graduated from NECA High School in 1951. Mary is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Christian Mothers of the Holy Redeemer Parish. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, and the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
Mrs. Ottavio is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doreen (Jeff) Welsh of Ellwood City, her two sons and daughters-in-law, David (Leona) Ottavio of Ellport, and Jerod (Julie) Ottavio of Erie, her six grandchildren, Renee (Jim) Miller, Brad (Shannon) Welsh, Gabriella Ottavio, Katelyn Ottavio, David Ottavio and his fiance Ashley Rodabaugh, Jordan Ottavio, and her five great grandchildren, Brady Welsh, Ryan Welsh, Madison Miller, Nicholas Miller, Lucas Miller. She is also survived by her two sisters, Rose Marie (Paul) McDonald, and Diane Snyder both of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Angelo S. Ottavio whom she married on April 24, 1954 and passed away on August 14, 2009, her sister, Julie Abdoe, and her two brothers, Joe, and Alber Abdoe.
A private visitation will be held for the family on Wednesday morning in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesdasy at 1:00pm in the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Camillus Njoku officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Wednesday by 12:50pm to form an honor guard.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Ottavio's name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund.
