James Allen “Shotgun” McKay, age 94, of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away January 14, 2015. He was born October 27, 1920, in Elmore City, Oklahoma, to Henry Tolbert & Pearl Ivy (Barnett) McKay.

Shotgun was a member of Covenant Life Assembly. He was one of six children. Shotgun enjoyed visiting with friends and socializing with his church family. He loved his dogs and he enjoyed reading and walking.

Shotgun is survived by 1 son, Tommy McKay & wife, Barbara, of Wynnewood; 1 daughter, Karen Primrose & husband, Larry, of Norman; 4 grandchildren, Chad McKay & wife, Siok Cheng McKay, of Broken Arrow, Charlene McCoy & husband, Jared, of Broken Arrow, Trillene Baird & husband, Tony, of Coffeyville, TX and Trent Primrose & wife, Tammy, of Oklahoma City; 7 great-grandchildren, Egan McKay, Seth, Ross, Katelynn and Anna McCoy, Abby and Evan Primrose.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; and his parents. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Covenant Life Church Assembly, located at 207 S. Howard Ave., in Moore, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, Oklahoma.
