1st husband of Derrexa Cressey
An article printed in the State Banner on January 4, 1851 states: The body of Mr. Jonas Camp, of Woodford, was found in the snow, on The Old Turnpike leading across the mountain, in the vicinity of what is called the "Elbow" on Monday last. He left Bennington on Saturday, where he had been on business, on foot, for his home on the mountain, and had arrived within two miles of his residence. The jury of inquest decided, he was seized with a fit, and under the combined influence of that and the extreme cold expired. The deceased was about 35 years old, and has left a wife and several children to mourn the sudden departure of a husband and father.
