Born in the Hickory Log District in Cherokee Territory, East Georgia. Died in Going Snake District, Adair County, Oklahoma. He was judge of Hickory Log District in 1826-8. He represented the same district in the convention that adopted the Constitution of July 26, 1827. He was appointed to the Committee on June 26, 1840.
On June 21, 1823, he sold his reservation back for $1,600.
1835: John and his brother Charles registered as Cherokee Indians and moved to Arkansas where they received land.
He may be related to Martha McDonald as she may be an elder sister.
He may have had a daughter Hannah who may have married this John Thomasson (with 2 S's in his last name).
According to contributor 47710077, his possible daughter Hannah (1818-1848) first married Ezekiel Buffington McLaughlin in 1832 on the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma and they may have had the following children:
Mary (b. 1833)
John (b. 1835)
Ezekial Collins McLaughlin (b. 1837)
Jennie (b. 1839)
and that possible daughter "Hannah" in no way could have given birth to "Zemeriah" in 1803 (15 years before her own birth).
