Mr. Johnny Dale Elliott, 65, of Normandy died Monday, January 12th, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after a long illness. A native of Bedford County, he served six years for the Shelbyville Police Department and retired after 18 years with the Bedford County Sheriff's Department where he served as Chief Deputy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Vietnam War. He was the son of the late J. W. Elliott and Louise Eldren Goodwin Haynes. He was preceded in death by a brother, James David Elliott. He is survived by his wife, Susan Elliott; son, Nikia (Julie) Elliott of Normandy; daughter, Natasha (Andrew) Bowers of Murfreesboro; brother, Steve (Rose) Elliott of Normandy; sister, Wanda DeSplinter of Shelbyville; four grandchildren, Eli Elliott, Cale Elliott, Slate Bowers and Nate Bowers. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 16th, at Hillcrest Funeral Home Rev. Tommy Dye officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Blanton's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
