Remembering Momma--Gena Fern Gregory
“Momma” passed unexpectedly in her home on January 12th, 2015, in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 53. Gena is survived by her children: Jenny Carroll (Jaafar), Matt Gregory (Jennifer), Jeremiah Gregory, Hannah Gregory (Jerrad), and Aaron Gregory. Her Siblings: Arliss Fowler (Sherri), Garey Fowler (Geneva) and Kevin Fowler (Nancy). Her Grandchildren: Heather, Luke, Grace, Isaac, Adam, Zehara, Brianna and Jonas. She is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Mildred Fowler. Gena was born on April 3rd, 1961, in Yukon, Oklahoma to Floyd and Mildred Fowler. She graduated from Mustang High School in 1979. Gena lived in Midwest City and was highly respected in retail management where she had a long and successful career with Wal-Mart. She was deeply passionate about her family and church. Gena was the first to step in and do for others before thinking of herself. She had many hobbies and talents and was a wonderful pianist and singer, she was an artist and painted ceramics, was an accomplished seamstress, and made the world’s greatest cinnamon rolls. Momma was strong when the rest of us were not. Now she is home and having a wonderful day. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 Funeral services were held at 1:30 on Friday, January 16th at Vandament Avenue Baptist Church, Nate Cook officiated the ceremony.
