Lula R. Young, 87, of Columbus, died at 3:10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born in Hoopeston, Illinois December 12, 1926, Mrs. Young was the daughter of Sam and Elise Egolf Maul.

She married Earl T. Young July 24, 1946. He preceded her in death January 3, 1994.

Mrs. Young was a homemaker and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Mrs. Young is survived by her son, Robert L. (Deborah) Young of Columbus; a sister, Gertrude (Alford) Pate of Hoopeston, IL; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Earl T. Young; her daughter, Shirley Reed; a sister, Eleanor Maul; and brothers, George, Norman, and Clarence Maul.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 East 17th Street, Columbus, Indiana 47201.
