ERVIN PHILLIPS

COAL CITY - Ervin Phillips, 84, Coal City, died Thursday morning, Dec. 29, 1994 at his home.

Born Sept. 28, 1910, in Sisseton, S.D., he was a son of Charles and Susan (Wren) Phillips.

On Oct. 15, 1932, he married Jennie Small who preceded him in death in 1977.

He farmed in the Wilmington area for many years and worked construction as a laborer. He was a member of Laborers Local 75 in Joliet.

Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn (Gerald) Krell of Braceville, Mary (John) Manietta of Coal City, and Carol (Ron) Morin of Coal City; one sister, Jessie (Edward) Schumacher of Mesa, Ariz., 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a daughter, Joan Schumacher and two grandsons, Gerald (Tiger) Krell and Donald Lee Lockwood; one son in law, Leonard (Swede) Onsen; one brother, Marvin L. Phillips; and one sister, Martha Findley.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City with the Rev. Ted Berst of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City officiating.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City. Burial will be in the Braceville Gardner Cemetery.

Pallbearers are John, Ron, Joe, Jason, and Matthew Manietta and Lenny Onsen.

Memorials may be directed to the Coal City Emergency Squad.
