Reverend H. David Parker, Pastor of Emanuel Baptist Church in Elmont, NY, for forty five years, went home to be with his beloved Savior. He went to sleep in the arms of Jesus on Saturday January 3, 2015, while at Sinai Hospital, in Maryland. Prior to becoming pastor of Emanuel Baptist Church, he faithfully served in the US Military. First he served in the US Army, then he enlisted again, and served in the US Air Force. Rev. Paker was awarded over a dozen awards for his distinguished military service. During his years in the military, he was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, in Hempstead, New York. Rev. Parker married Miss Willie Mae Bates in 1953, and they wer blessed with six wonderful children.

He was leader of the Eastern Baptist Association for four years. Rev. Parker was also the founder and organizer of, The Nassau Council of Black Clergy. He was not only a blessing to those of the Council of Black clergy, but he was helpful, and advocated for many in the Nassau County community. In 1987 his beloved wife passed away. Rev. Parker was a beautiful Christian role model, as he faithfully served in many capacities; The Nassau County Human Rights Commission; Empire Baptist Missionary; USA National Baptist Convention; Nassu Counties Interracial Task Force, etc. Reverend H. David Parker was helpful to those who crossed his path in life.
