He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a retired Trainmaster for the old L&N/CSX Railroad. He was a member of the Old L&N Golf Club, American Legion Post 157, VFW Post 5710 and the Moose Lodge #5.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Barbara Jean Harvey; brothers, Donald and Vernon Burton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 8 yrs, Patricia (Karcher) Burton; children, Jeanne Turnipseed, Anthony Burton Sr. (Laura) and Kimberly Fair; grandchildren, L.J. Peak(Shannon), Anthony Burton, Jr. (Aimee), Laurie Bratton(Ed), Jason England (Debra), James Graham, Jr., Jessica Graham, Alicia Reeder and Alayna Payton; great grandchildren, Rylee Burton and Andi Lynn Peak; step children, Cathy Crenshaw, Donna McIntosh, David Hofelich; brothers, Bruce (Mary) and Kenneth (Jenny); sister, Linda Duvall.
His funeral service will be 7pm Thursday with inurnment at Resthaven Memorial Park at a later date.
