Charles W. Worden, 88, Hicksville, died Monday, March 21, 2005, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born Aug. 5, 1916, in Allen County, Ind., the son of Harry and Edna (Zuber) Worden. In 1943, he married Velma Rapp, who died in 1999. He was a 1935 graduate of Hicksville High School, a mechanic at various Ford dealerships and retired from Dotco (Cooper Industries), Hicksville, after 23 years. He was a member of Hicksvilles Trinity United Methodist Church and Eagles Aerie 2556. Surviving are three sons, Dennis of Hicksville, Bill (Charlotte) of Thornton, Colo., and Robert, Fort Wayne; a brother, Cal, Hicksville; two sisters, Rose Hart of Harlan, Ind., and Garnett McCoy, Defiance; a special friend, Frieda Gordon; and three grandchildren and a great-grandson. Also preceding him in death were a brother, Robert; and a sister, Florence Trostel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, with Rev. Tom Graves officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday. Preferred memorials are to American Diabetes Foundation.
