Bonnie Ann Carr, 57, of 326 Dogwood Lane, Hurt, died Saturday, July 20 2013, at her home. She was born September 16, 1955, in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Emmett Tompkins Carr and Clara Nadell Chittum Carr.

She was a member of The Tree of Life Ministries and recently attended Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church. Bonnie was an artist that loved writing poetry and sewing.

She is survived by a daughter, Angela Carr Kelly and her husband, Joshua Kelly, of Altavista; a sister, Mary Ellen Witt of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Cayden Elisha Carr Kelly and Azriel Riley Carr Kelly; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Mark Hopkins and the Rev. Keith Vincent. The family will receive friends following the service at the church fellowship hall and other times at the residence of Angela, 1304 Main St., Altavista, VA. The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider Horizon Health Services, Attn: Felicia Prescott, 620 Court St., Lynchburg, VA .. The family also would appreciate friends and family attending the service to help celebrate her life by wearing bright colored clothes.
