Lebanon, VA – Richard P. Sutherland, age 63, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Michigan, he was a son of the late Chancelor and Irene Compton Sutherland. He was a retired coal truck driver, a loving father, husband, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Sutherland, a son, Junior (Kimbra) Sutherland of Harmony, NC, a daughter, Renee (Darwin) Stallard of Lebanon, a brother, Randy (Pat) Sutherland of Bee, VA, his step-mother, Lura Sutherland of Bee, and four grandchildren, Shane and Austin Stallard and Chloe and Alyssa Sutherland.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Noah Kim Edwards and Roger Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens, Lebanon. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
