Bruce W. Cooper, age 87 of Garland, TX, passed away February 21, 2014. He was born October 2, 1926, in Graford, TX, to Ollet C. and Pearl (Walker) Cooper. Bruce served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was married June 7, 1949, in Perrin, TX, to Eloise Herring. Bruce attended Abilene Christian University, University of Texas where he earned his BA in Pharmacy, and Baylor College of Dentistry where he earned his DDS. He was in private dental practice in Garland from 1958 until his retirement in 1991. Bruce was an avid golfer and shot a hole-in-one 5 times to earn the title "Lucky Bruce." He shot his age many times. Bruce is survived by his wife: Eloise Cooper of Garland, TX; children: Deborah Abshere of Edmond, OK, Paul Cooper and wife Yurani of Austin, TX, Terri Strawn and husband Gary of Garland, TX, and Jonathan Cooper and wife Brenda of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren: Alison Beeler, Erin Rogalin, Mark Abshere, Kristin Strawn, Haley Strawn, Dalila Moran, Alec Cooper and Joel Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and a brother. Memorial service at 2 pm Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Saturn Road Church of Christ. Visitation at Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rowlett Saturday from 6-8 pm.
