NEW PORT RICHEY – Pearl D. Berry, 85, died January 6th in New Port Richey, Florida surrounded by family and friends. Born Nov. 5th, 1929 in E. Greenwich, RI, the daughter of Harry and Mildred (Stalker) Dyer. Pearl was a 1951 graduate of Bridgewater State College. On July 19, 1953 she married Theodore “Ted” Berry at Bridgewater, MA Pearl retired from teaching after more than 20 years at Livermore Elementary School and she volunteered at New Port Richey schools after retirement. Pearl was a member of the MEA, NEA, and the Maine Assn of Retirees.
There is nothing Pearl enjoyed more than the simple things and quiet times she enjoyed with family and friends. A game of cards, cribbage, Scrabble (which she was very good at), reading and singing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were among her favorite things to do.
Pearl and Ted retired to Colony Cove in New Port Richey. Pearl and Ted made many new friends wherever they went and always had family close by. They made so many great friends whom they visited and talked about throughout the years. Pearl once said, “I have many best friends.”
Pearl was pre-deceased by her husband, her parents, and her brothers Harry and John Dyer.
