J.P. (Bud) Hughes, 84, a retired Powderly rancher, died Saturday at 10:20 a.m. in McCuistion Hospital here of illness.
Son of John and Maggie Melyon Hughes, he was born in Alabama, 18 Jan 1884, but had lived here most of his life. He had resided at Maxey and Tigertown before moving to Powderly.
He married Rosalie Wadford May 14, 1926, and she survives, besides five children: James (Buddy) Hughes, Dallas; Jerry and Kenneth Hughes, Powderly; Mrs. James Nations, Blossom, and Mrs. Bill (Edna) Parks, Paris; also six grandchildren.
Leverett and Steele of Paris have charge of services set for 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Leverett and Steele Chapel. Burial will be made in Providence Cemetery.
