Evelyn M. Samuelson Maltas, 91, of La Porte City, died Sat., Jan. 10 at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 19, 1923 in Plainfield, daughter of Herman and Etta Wright Gulick.

She graduated from East High School and was a secretary at Hughes Air Craft, Carsen City, Calif.

Survived by: a son, Terry (Mikki) Samuelson of La Porte City; two daughters, Carol Lynn (Hal) Pries of La Porte City and Diane (Randy) Leavell of Motley, Minn.; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Berneice Meyers of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Donald, Robert and Roger Gulick; two sisters, Geneva Baldwin and Florence Ackersen; a half-sister, Inez Worthen.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tues., Jan. 13 at Hammond Avenue Brethren Church with burial in Orange Township Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and continue for one hour before services Tuesday at the church.
