Mr. Julian M. Hammond, 85, beloved husband of Jeanette W. Hammond, of Hammond Pond Road., entered into rest, Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2006 in the chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Rev. Ty Lockridge, Mr. Archie Hixon and Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Tommy Stone, Terry Mathis, Bill Mathis, Rusty Prater, Dr. Billy Lynn, Stuart Satterfield and Mike Blazer. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Acacia Masonic Lodge. The family will receive friends at Rowland Funeral Home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. Hammond was a native of Edgefield, SC, and was the son of the late John Edward Hammond and Ruby Miller Hammond. He grew up to be an accomplished carpenter, and retired as a master cabinet maker. In early years he made many beautiful cedar chests and wardrobes. Mr. Hammond was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta and the Acacia Masonic Lodge. He was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Edward Hammond and a sister Edith Stone. Additional survivors include a son and his wife, two daughters and their husbands, two sisters, six grandchildren. Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
