Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-9pm at Shearer Funeral Home in Plankinton, with a prayer service at 8pm
Internment will be at the Plankinton Cemetery.
Mr Vlasman was born April 18, 1907 at Harrison to Andrew & Lena Vlasman. He grew up in the Harrison area and married Rose Lille. To this union, a son, Vernon was bron. He later married Agnes Wulf on April 23, 1938, at Wessington Springs. After their marriage, they moved to Plankinton, where he had an automobile dealership and was the city policeman for 25 years.
He was very active in establishing the city park in Plankinton. He retired in 1967 and has operated Joe's Second Hand Store ever since. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes, six sons, Vernon, Fulton, Kenneth, Marshalltown Iowa, Duane, Madison, Larry Plankinton, Dale, Pukwana, Robert, Fort Collins, Co.; a brother, Albert Grand Rapids Michigan, one sister, Mrs Jake (Etta) Vlietstra Grand Rapids Michigan; 15 grandchildren; Three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
