Actress. Born Kerstin Anita Marianne Ekberg, she will be best remembered for her performance in the film "La Dolce Vita" (1960) by Federico Fellini. During her career she starred in over 70 films including "Abbott and Costello Go to Mars" by Charles Lamont (1953), "Blood Alley" by William A. Wellman, "Artists and Models" co-starring Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin (1955), "War and Peace" by King Vidor (1956), "Back from Eternity" by John Farrow, "A porte chiuse" by Dino Risi (1961), "4 for Texas" by Robert Aldrich (1963), "Scusi, lei è favorevole o contrario?" by Alberto Sordi (1966), "Sette volte donna" by Vittorio De Sica (1967), "Bambola" by Bigas Luna (1996). The awards to her credit include the coronation as Miss Sweden (1950), a Golden Globe (1956) and the Capri Legend Award (2003). Ekberg died after a long illness at the age of eighty-three.
