Erma Donise Thomas, 86, longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away Jan. 5, 2015. She was born July 15, 1928, in Wellston, Ohio. Donise was a loving mother and grandmother, who doted on her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Iva Leach; and her brothers, Glendon and Eldon. Donise is survived by her daughters, Connie (Skip) Newton of Las Vegas, Kathy (Charles) Clark of Portland, Ore., and Karen (Ken) Kaufman of Las Vegas; her grandchildren, Rebecca and Brooke Newton, Bryan and Jenny Clark, and Amanda and Dena Kaufman. She also leaves behind her brothers, James (Mary) Leach and Donald (Lou) Leach; her sister, Betty Pontisso; sister-in-law, Eva (Glen) Leach; and many nieces and nephews in Ohio. Donise was an active parishioner of St. Viator Catholic Church for 45 years. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services following at Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Celebration of life following graveside services.
