THREE SOILDIERS DROWNED GLEN INNES, Sunday.
Three soldiers, all Queenslanders—
L/Cpl Morris Hoare Barlow, single;
Pte Ed Woolgar, single; and
Pte Vincent Kelly, single
—were drowned when crossing a flooded fold during military manoeuvres on Friday
night Another soldier, L/Cpl J. Tee. was rescued unconscious. Woolgar and Kelly were washed Into the water, 20 feet deep. they carried heavy equipment. Barlow, who had crossed, hurtled back to help Kelly, who grappled with him. Both disappeared. Tee is in
hospital and his condition is satisfactory.
