Danny L. Benson passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the VA Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio at the age of 66. Danny was born in Knoxville on August 8, 1948, to Roy and Marie (McGinnis) Benson and grew up on Greenleaf Avenue in Knoxville. Danny graduated from West High School in 1966 and two years later joined the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy, Danny returned to Knoxville and then later moved to Cincinnati where he remained. Danny is survived by son Jeremy, daughter Christy Marie, brothers Jeff, Rick, and Gary, granddaughters Alexis (Lexi) and McKenzie, aunt Linda Cox, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be remembered for all the good times growing up on Greenleaf Avenue in the 50's and 60's.
The family has elected to conduct a private graveside service. Click's Funeral home in Lenoir City is handling the arrangements.
