Jimmie married Linda Gamblin on September 10, 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Byrd, of Senath, Mo.; one daughter, LaDonna Droke, and husband, Sean, of Senath; two grandchildren, Beau Droke and Meagan Droke, both of Senath; three brothers, Jerry Byrd, and wife, Genia, of Kennett, Ervin Byrd, and wife, Mary Jo, of Kennett, and Kenny Byrd, and wife, Nancy, of Batesville, Ark.; five sisters, Shirley Cross, and husband, Gene, of Williamsville, Mo., Sondra Wake, and husband, Lawrence, of Kennett, Jenita Smith, and husband, Jeff, of Kennett, Venita Miller, and husband, Tommy, of Kennett, and Deronda Williams, of Kennett; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Ann Byrd and Betty Price.
Jimmie served on the Kennett Police Department for 30 years. As a Major, he held the highest, non-elected position with the Department. Jimmie was a member of Ely Baptist Church. Jimmie loved to fish, but loved his grandchildren more.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri. McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett, MO. was in charge of the arrangements.
