William Belcher

b.1748 Chesterfield Co, VA
d. 22 Dec 1796 when will was proven. Book 5 page 329. Virginia wills and admin inventoried on 23 Feb 1797 in Amelia County, VA. Received the following land grants on said dates: Listed in Montgomery county, VA on 17 Jul 1793, 150 acres on the South side of Maiden Spring Fork of Clinch River adjacent to Henry Anthony's survey grant 28, page 615. On 25 Aug 1796 in Wythe County, 100 acres on the south fork of Maiden Spring of Clynch River and adjacent to John Young and Robert Campbell. Grant number 35, page 633.

William served in the Revolutionary War at Annapolis, Maryland, 4th Regiment with brother Benjamin. William enlisted on 5 October 1775 for the duration of the war. He was on roll call on 13 October 1781.
