Andrew S. Jensen, 77, retired farmer and resident of Magna the past seven years, died in a Salt Lake hospital Tuesday of a stroke. He also had followed mining. Mr. Jensen was born in Norre Sundby, Denmark, March 29, 1864, a son of Simon Christian and Anna Marie Syndergaard Jensen. He came to the United States 60 years ago and for many years made his home in Mt. Pleasant. He married Caroline Monson of Mt. Pleasant March 29, 1868. Mr. Jensen was city marshal of Mt. Pleasant from 1900 to 1902.
Surviving are his widow of Magna; five sons; Alvin and Cannon Jensen, both of Axtell, Utah; J. Seymour and J. Maurice Jensen, both of Mt. Pleasant, and J. Russell Jensen of Magna; six daughters, Mrs. Ada Rasmussen of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Macel Beagley, Mrs. Ina Hansen, Mrs. Alice Martin, Mrs. Grace Christensen, all of Magna, and Mrs. Lena Naylor of Clearfield; 37 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Severin Jensen of Belt, Montana.
